Technical fireworks apart, the team is also charged with the mandate of educating, concientizing, mobilizing and sensitizing the university community on the e-learning initiative. So far, this mandate is been discharged with passion, adopting a multi-step approach. Just recently, the first set of beneficiaries was recorded. It was a team of Lecturers from Mathematics department led by Dr. Elijah Aline. The demostration of the experimental and domesticated version of Kewl.Nextgen took place at the Enginnering Workshop 2, Computer Centre, University of Jos. Lead developer of the AVOIR project in University of Jos, Mr. Jones Abakpa, supported by Dr. S. A. Akintunde (UNIJOS AVOIR Project Co-ordinator), Mr Emmanuel Okewu and Miss Jennifer Abagyeh (UNIJOS AVOIR Team members) conducted the demostration which enlightened the concentrate of Lecturers on the rudiments of Kewl. Nextgen such as Registration Procedures, Course Content Management, Initiation of Discussion Forum etc
There is hope in the horizon that at it's maturity, the project would monumentally complement all other e-learning initiatives in the university community thus streamlining and leveraging the conscious and deliberate attemp to reposition and refocus University of Jos not just as a world-class institution, but a globally competitive citadel of learning.
